Dr. Cara Lan has an expertise in the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome, autoimmune disorders, fibromyalgia, and the various conditions that often coincide: depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Dr. Lan also has a passion for chronic illness in general, as well as family medicine for children and adults. She has experience working with children with emotional disorders. She is highly trained in the modalities of homeopathy, nutrition and dietary counseling, herbal medicine, mind/body medicine, and lifestyle coaching. She continues to keep up-to-date in the latest advancements of naturopathic medicine, and she lives by the lifestyle suggestions and natural treatments she recommends.
Dr. Lan, herself, suffered with chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety and insomnia. After searching for alleviation from these conditions for years, she finally found treatments that addressed the root causes of her illness and was able to heal from them all. Today she is eager to share these treatments with others, helping people to regain their health and ability to thrive.
Dr. Lan is dedicated to helping you and your family find balance so that you are supported in your health, healing and ability to thrive. She places great emphasis on identifying potential underlying causes of illness. She uses forms of medicine (both natural and integrative) that address these causes and move you toward renewed health. Treatment plans are highly individualized, taking into account the whole of who you are, from your physical symptoms, to emotional and mental symptoms, to your home and work environments, to the satisfaction of your relationships, to your nutrition status, among other lifestyle factors. Education and Training:
Dr. Lan received her Bachelor of Science degree in zoology with an emphasis in ecology from Colorado State University. She has been an avid and lifelong student of science, biology, health, alternative and integrative medicines, nutrition and homeopathy. After graduating college, she worked for Bio-Genics, Inc., where she was first introduced to homeopathy and deepened her knowledge of alternative medicine. She subsequently worked for Motherlove Herbal Company where she produced herbal tinctures and salves for pregnant and breastfeeding women and her passion for holistic medicine grew. Soon after, she attended Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in Tempe, Arizona where she graduated with honors. Dr. Lan is a board-certified naturopathic physician and maintains a private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona. She also teaches pediatric clinical rotations at SCNM’s Hamilton School clinic, as well as, a general family practice rotation at the Changing Lives Center, a rehabilitation center established by the Phoenix Rescue Mission for women recovering from drug and alcohol abuse, homelessness, domestic violence and PTSD.
