Kimberly Wright, Naturopathic Intern
Depression and Insomnia
Kimberly Wright has an undeniable passion for mental health and healing. Her area of expertise is in the naturopathic treatment of depression and insomnia. Mental wellness is achieved by utilizing mind/body techniques to identify the root cause of patients’ suffering. Positive results also show a strong connection between general health and happiness, in other words, if your physical body is not performing optimally, it is often reflected in the mind. Various tools used to correct these physical health imbalances include botanical medicine, acupuncture, supplements and nutritional advisement. In addition to the above treatments, patient’s sleep quality is also addressed, given that insomnia often has a large impact on quality of mood.
She has an ability to empathize with her patients and their families through her own family experiences. She has witnessed what sadness looks like at its worst, which has taught her the importance of having a compassionate physician to guide patients in the healing process. Her ultimate goal is to start a nonprofit for the treatment of depression. She pictures a healing center where patients can affordably come and learn what it means to be happy again.
Her education includes a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Fort Lewis College, including several courses in psychology. She received a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from SCNM, with additional training in EMDR, EFT, holographic imagery, mind/body medicine, psychodrama, and biofeedback.
